The Eddystone Charity Sailing Pursuit (in the following “The Pursuit”) collects any contact information you may choose to provide in your communications with us. The Pursuit uses collects data for registration with. In addition to the information you knowingly provide, our third-party partners could collect the domain names and IP addresses of its visitors, along with usage statistics (e.g., types of web browsers and operating systems used) and browsing history to more efficiently administer the Website.

Why is it being collected?

The Pursuit is a charity event involving a large number of people on the water, hence health and safety is key. Land-based points of contact are needed in case the Pursuit Team is unable to contact a yacht during the event, or in case there is an incident involving a yacht. Skipper information is required in case of queries, and to provide updates on entry times, weather warnings and reminders of timings for the Skippers Briefing and Prize Giving, and the following year’s event etc.

How will it be used?

We will use the information you have provided us with to send you event invitations and information updates about the Event.

Who will it be shared with?

We share the information you have chosen to provide with one or two third party suppliers to bring you a successful event.

What will be the effect of this on the individuals concerned?

The Pursuit team are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal data and you can at any time opt out from receiving updates from us. These changes will not materially change the way that we use your personal information. We respect your personal information and never have and never will sell it to third parties. You may, at any time, request that your data is edited or erased. No. The information we collect is meant to serve you with better services, news and updates regarding our Charity Event.
